POS passport office remains closed

NEWS GRAPHIC 7The Ministry of National Security has advised the public that the Immigration Division located at # 67 Frederick Street will remain closed until further notice.

The offices of the division have been closed for the past two weeks following a decision by members of the Public Services Association to down tools due to health and safety concerns.

According to the ministry those seeking to renew their Machine Readable Passport can be facilitated at the Immigration Offices in Sangre Grande, Chaguanas, San Fernando, Pt. Fortin and Tobago, between the hours of 7:00 am – 2:30 pm for cash transactions and between 7:00 am – 3:00 pm for electronic transactions.

First time applicants are asked to call 627-7277 for an appointment.

The ministry added that all passports are produced at the Frederick Street office and it is unable to say when production staff will resume normal working hours.
