An 18 year old construction worker is dead after being shot in his head.

According to police reports a gunman opened fire on the house where the teenager allegedly went to purchase marijuana.

18 year old Salim Gonzales was working on his grandmother’s home and left to reportedly purchase drugs at a nearby house when he was killed.

Police believe the intended target was the drug dealer who was shot in the shoulder.

The incident took place at Irving Mc Williams Street, Phase Six, La Horquetta.

The Prison officers association is today disputing reports that a loaded homemade gun was found behind the prison wall.

Reports say the weapon, with six rounds of .38 ammunition, was found hidden in the wall of cell ten at the Remand Section of the Golden Grove Prison, Arouca, last Wednesday.

However contacted by News Power Now this morning, President of the Association, Cerron Richards said he has not gotten any evidence that the report is in fact true.

He said the matter is still being investigated by his organisation.
