A Mentally challenged woman who tied up by thieves in her Gasparillo home is believed to have suffocated to death.

Homicide officers are investigating the death of 30 year old mentally challenged Carla Archilal of Bonne Aventure, who was discovered by officers around 3 o’ clock this morning.

Police reports say two men, armed with guns, entered the home of 62 year old Marlon Archilal, tied up his children Vishnu and Carla, duct tape them and wrapped them up with bed sheeting.

The men then entered the business place stole several items including vehicle batteries, electrical tools and an undisclosed amount of cash, then attempted to escape with the items in Marlon’s vehicle.

Police believe then contacted a third person with a vehicle who picked up the intruders.

Marlon, a hardware owner was able to free himself sometime after the bandits left.

When he freed his children he discovered Carla and motionless.

It is believed at this time she suffocated and died.

Investigations are continuing.


In another incident, a woman’s decomposing body has been discovered in an abandoned hardware in Point Fortin.

The woman, 51 year old Anjanie Sieudan, of Bryce Rd Point Fortin was mentally ill. Police say she had been residing at the abandoned hardware.

News Power Now understands that police were alerted to a foul stench emanating from the area and upon checks, the woman’s corpse was found.

Foul play has not been ruled out pending a post mortem on her body.

Point Fortin police are investigating.


And……Police are investigating a report in which a 39-year-old man was shot in Malabar on Tuesday night.

According to police reports, the victim was at his Chance Trace, Malabar home, when he saw a man wearing a dark hoodie entering his yard.

The victim then heard several explosions and saw the man fleeing the scene.

LOOPTT.COM reports that the 39-year-old then felt intense burning sensations and notified the police as well as the emergency health services.

The wounded man was rushed to the Arima District Hospital before he was transferred to the Medical Complex.

It was said that Prince underwent emergency surgery and was warded in a serious but stable condition.
