President and TTDF to collaborate and highlight Republic Day’s importance

NEWS GRAPHIC 3The Office of The President, in partnership with the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force, is embarking on a week-long series of military-themed events, geared towards highlighting the importance and role that the Nation’s Armed Forces play in the human development of our twin-island Republic.

The celebrations begin on Saturday, 20th September with the annual Commander-in-Chief (CIC) Parade which will take place at the Chaguaramas Heliport, starting at 4.00 pm.

The Defence Force will also be conducting Career Fairs both in Trinidad and in Tobago beginning on Monday, 22nd September at the Toco Secondary School from 8.30 am to 3.30 pm.

The Career Fair then moves to the Gulf City Mall in Lowlands, Tobago on Thursday 25th and Friday 26th September, between the hours of 9.00 am to 5.00 pm on both days.

The Career Fairs will highlight the various formations of the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force including the Regiment, Coast Guard, Air Guard and Reserves; the Trinidad and Tobago Cadet Force; the Civilian Conservation Corps; and the Military Led Academic Training Programme (MILAT).

Both the Ministry of Education and the Tobago House of Assembly have agreed to assist in transporting students to and from the venues.
