Mr. Carmona called for remembrance to the day almost 180 years ago when many of our ancestors were set free from oppression.

With mention of Noble Peace Prize Winner, Professor Akinwande Oluwole Soyinka, the President measures against history, how Africans have distinguished themselves in every field of endeavor and not only in the arenas of entertainment and sport.

Mr. Soyinka, the first African to win a Noble Peace Prize for Literature was quoted by President Carmona stating that “The greatest threat to freedom is the absence of criticism”.
