With debate on the Income Tax Amendment Bill set to resume in Parliament, Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley is lamenting the amount of corruption taking place in the country.
The Opposition has maintained its refusal to support the legislation.
Speaking at a PNM public meeting held at City Hall in Port of Spain on Thursday, Dr Rowley recalled the figures laid before the Parliament earlier this year by the Financial Intelligence Unit.
He added that this spoke to the state of affairs in the country.
Dr Rowley questioned why the opposition, armed with this information, still has not supported the passage of the Income Tax Bill.
