Prime Minister Heads to Panama for  American Competitiveness Forum

This country’s Prime Minister will lead a delegation to the American Competitiveness Forum VII in Panama City, Panama from Wednesday to Friday this week.

Kamla Persad Bissessar leaves the country Tuesday.

The Americas Competitiveness Forum is part of the Inter-American Competitiveness Network, which will be held in Panama.

The Forum is the Western Hemisphere’s pre-eminent event for government and business leaders to discuss innovative methods to achieve economic competitiveness and promote innovation in the Americas.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       Trinidad and Tobago will host the 8th Americas Competitiveness Forum in 2014 and the attendance of the Prime Minister at the forum in Panama will facilitate the transition ceremony as Chair Pro Tempore of RIAC 2014.

Additionally, Mrs Persad-Bissessar will lead the delegation that is travelling to Panama for the Signing of the Partial Scope Trade Agreement between Trinidad & Tobago and Panama.

 Mrs. Persad Bissessar and the Panamanian President will witness the signing at 9 am on Thursday.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Winston Dookeran and Ambassador Mervyn Assam will be in attendance.
