“Not out of control and efforts continue to address and suppress the work of criminals”.
This is the response given by Prime Minister, Kamla Persad Bissessar, to questions on crime posed to her during Thursday evening’s Leaders Exchange on state owned Caribbean New Media Group or CNMG.
The Prime Minister said the various security agencies have made progress in tackling crime.
However, she admitted, there is always room for improvement.
Mrs Persad Bissessar added that the government has implemented several recommendations given by reports into the July 27th 1990 attempted coup.
Commenting on allegations directed at her by Independent Liberal Party Political Leader, Jack Warner, she said her focus is on running the country’s affairs and her legal team will attend to defamatory remarks against her.
