Government is not at this time considering the removal of the present Board of the Port Authority of Trinidad and Tobago following challenges in being able to procure of vessel to service the inter-island sea bridge.
The update comes from Prime Minister, Dr Keith Rowley, in the parliament on Wednesday following a question asked by the Member of Parliament for Chaguanas East.
Dr. Rowley has appointed a Cabinet Sub-Committee to procure a vessel to meet the country’s inter-island needs.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister said that the Mouttet investigation into the circumstances surrounding the procurement of the Cabo Star and the Ocean Flower 2 was not required to make any recommendations because it was not an all-encompassing inquiry.
He said no recommendations were requested and none were made.
