Own goals closed the scoring in both Trinidad and Tobago Pro League Football championship matches at the Hasely Crawford Stadium last evening with Point Fortin Civic Centre benefitting because Defence Force’s own goal with nine minutes to full time helped them to enjoy a 1-1 draw.

But San Juan Jabloteh counted their own goal as the fourth for Caledonia AIA of Morvant Laventille who won 4 goals to one in the other match.

Richard Roy scored for Defence Force’s lead in the first minute of the second half but the victory march was checked with the late own goal.

Nathan Lewis, Kareen Joseph and a second-half penalty by Pernell Schultz had given AIA the upper hand and when Jabloteh made it four, there was only Johan Peltier’s 64th minute strike as consolation to Jabloteh who dropped to fifth on the nine-team first round standings  – AIA with their third win in six matches moving into second behind Central FC who play tomorrow.
