Senators are expected to resume debated on long awaited legislation on public procurement today.
The Public Procurement and the Disposal of Public Property Bill, 2014 which was a campaign promise by the People Partnership during the 2010 general elections was piloted by Planning Minister Dr Bhoendradatt Tewarie on May 27.
A number of amendments were proposed during the debate.
Government ministers are also expected to be asked a total of 14 questions.
Opposition Senator Camille Robinson-Regis has directed a question to Minister of Water Resources Ganga Singh asking whether an investigation has been launched into allegations of bid-rigging, on the Contract WTC 197/2011 issued by WASA, for approximately $70 million.
Mrs. Robinson-Regis will also ask Works Minister Suruj Rambachan to provide information on the cost to repair the “sinkhole” which developed along the Beetham Highway, on September 6, 2012.
