Programmes to be implemented for Special Needs students in September

Education Minister, Anthony Garcia

The Education Ministry is assuring parents and the national community that when school reopens in September it will take action to identify students with specific needs and individual programmes will be designed to meet these needs.

Education Minister Anthony Garcia provided this information in the Senate this week.

He was asked by Independent Senator, Paul Richards, given that 2,170 students scored below thirty percent in the 2017 Secondary Entrance Assessment Examination, what immediate measures will be taken to provide remedial work to these students to prepare them for secondary school.

Minister Garcia added that focus will also be placed on closely monitoring schools.
