Coming out of a meeting with officials of the various regional health authorities a decision has been taken to establish proper systems to ensure standards are not compromised within the health sector.
Health Minister, Dr. Fuad Khan, said he held the meeting with the officials to discuss the recent report submitted by the independent committee which was set up to probe the circumstances surrounding the death of baby Simeon Cottle.
The child died during a botched C Section performed on March 1st at the Mount Hope Women’s Hospital.
Dr. Khan added that there are institutions in place to treat with issues relating to discipline, accountability and compensation.
