Proportional Representation Could Help Eliminate Challenges, Says EBC Official

voteThe system of proportional representation is viewed by a senior official of the Elections and Boundaries Commission as a model that will help eliminate many challenges surrounding the voting process.

Proportional representation is a system in which the number of seats held by members of a political party in a parliament is determined by the number of votes its candidates receive in an election.

Speaking on the Election Hard Talk Programme hosted by veteran journalist on Power 102.1FM this afternoon, EBC Chairman, Dr. Robert Masson, said controversial and troubling issues can be resolved with the use of the proportional representation system.
