Friday marked the fourth day of strike action by workers at the Licensing Office on Wrightson Road in Port of Spain, and Transport Commissioner, Rueben Cato, said the move is impacting the Division’s operations.

The Public Services Association has instructed the workers to sign the registry but to refrain from carrying out their duties until health and safety concerns at the office are properly addressed.

In a News Power Now interview on Friday, the Transport Commissioner explained that the workers’ action is beginning  to have an impact on the level of service that is to be delivered to the public.

Commissioner Cato said work has already begun to correct the issues identified.

PSA President, Watson Duke, during an address to the employees, gave a deadline of two weeks for the authorities to fix problems at the institution He also called for alleged corruption at the Licensing Office to be tackled.
