Members of the public are being warned of possible heightened industrial action by workers of the Public Transport Service Corporation, PTSC….

This warning from Roland Sutherland, president of the Transport and Industrial Workers’ Trade Union TIWU….

Mr. Sutherland warns the strike will happen if PTSC’s management insists on the five per cent salary increase being offered.

Meantime, over the weekend, there were reports of inconsistency of the bus service, in particular the Deluxe Coach Service.

Commuters have been told that drivers are refusing to drive buses which are defective.

But Mr. Sutherland said the action of the drivers has nothing to do with the ongoing wage negotiations but has everything to do with safety.

The trade unionist also confirmed that drivers boycotted the company’s annual Christmas dinner.

But this again he said, was not based on any instruction by the union…
