Speaking on the Power Breakfast Morning show, Mr. Griffith said the vehicles are to assist law enforcement officers in the performance of their duties.
He noted that there is a difference between the armoured vehicles and the amoured personal carriers but stated that each serves a purpose.
He went on to say that while there have been objections over the costs of the vehicles; he believes the benefits far outweigh the cost.
The Ministry of National Security was given just over six billion to and its line minister said this was in keying with the global standards of expenditure on protecting the state.
Minister Griffith expressed satisfaction with the allocation and maintained that is was never about how much he received.
