Public Utilities Minister, Robert Le Hunte, reveals that discussions have begun between TSTT management and third party service provider agencies who are employed as contract workers but no final decision has been taken on the way forward as far as he is aware.

He gave the response in the Senate on Tuesday afternoon as he responded to a question on the topic which wanted to find out the status of contracts for about one hundred workers.

Last year, the Prime Minister, following discussions with the trade union federations, stated that there would be a moratorium on retrenchment for the rest of 2017.

Minister Le Hunte said very soon these deliberations are expected to be completed and then he will be in a better position to give more details to the nation on this matter.
