A senior official of the Trinidad and Tobago Publishers and Broadcasters Association is of the view that citizens must decide if the decision taken by the Mirror tabloid newspaper to print a naked picture of a deceased man on its front page is acceptable journalistic practice.
TTPBA President, Daren Len Sing, says ultimately the people will determine if the mirror erred or if it did the right thing.
He explains that part of the problem is that the print media is not regulated by the Telecommunications Act of Trinidad and Tobago.
Mr. Lee Sing adds while TTPBA is doing all it can to alleviate incidents like this, the weekly newspaper does not subscribe to its principles.
He went on to describe the photo op as nothing more than yellow journalism.
