Former Minister of Planning and Infrastructure, Bhoe Tewarie
Former Minister of Planning and Infrastructure, Bhoe Tewarie is questioning government’s announcement that cane farmers owed outstanding monies, will now be paid one final payment.
In an interview this morning, Dr. Tewarie said during his tenure it was agreed that cane farmers would have been paid in three tranches, one of which was paid. He is calling on government to honor that agreement and explain exactly what is taking place at this present time.
He says he plans to write to the new minister to express his thoughts on the matter, in the interest of the cane farmers.
He wants the government to indicate whether cane farmers will be forced to sign a new agreement.
