Former Attorney General Ramesh Lawrence Maharaj remains convinced that the decision by the Integrity Commission to discontinue its probe into Emailgate does not exonerate Prime Minister Kamla Persad- Bissessar and Former Attorney General Anand Ramlogan.
In fact he revealed that the scope of the Integrity Commission’s investigation was limited under the Integrity in Public Life Act.
He was speaking on the Power Breakfast Show on Power 102.1 fm earlier today.
He disclosed that the reason Emailgate was referred to the Integrity Commission was simply because there needed to be a parallel investigation to determine whether or not there was a breach of ethics or conflict of interest.
He said that there needed to be clarification on what aspect was investigated and what kind of investigation was conducted.
