At the age of 12 on July 18 Brandon Hargreave, accused of misbehaving by his Father, was stripped naked, made to go into a dog kennel with the dog and kneel down as punishment at his then home in Cascade.
He was also denied dinner.
He ultimately ended up at the St. Michael’s home for boys.
During his stay there he suffered a blow to the head after allegedly play fighting with another boy.
He was pronounced dead at 10:25pm on April 8 2014 following the incident.
After his death his family asked for answers, that seemed slow in coming.
The Attorney General has now stated that a report that he has received has revealed that there were 2 supervisors present just outside the door and they chose to ignore what was happening with the boys.
Other atrocities have been articulated in the report as well.
Brandon’s relative Patrice Trim has stated that she and her family would not be satisfied until justice is served.
She said that while she’s happy that some of the family’s questions have been answered and details of wrong-doings at the home have been exposed, she hopes the relevant authorities follow through on the information.
Trim disclosed that the details of the Attorney General’s report saddened her.
She also explained that contrary to popular belief the family wanted Brandon to get the help he needed.
Trim believes that the system and not the family failed Brandon.
