Relief efforts to storm affected persons continue

The Sangre-Grande Regional Corporation says strong winds on Monday evening have caused damaged to over twenty homes.

Chairman Martin Terry Rondon in a News Power Now interview this afternoon said efforts continue to provide relief to the affected persons.


Arima Mayor Lisa Morris Julien confirmed that damage was done to five homes and a park due to the bad weather.

Meanwhile, Gopaul Boodan, Chaguanas Mayor speaking told our Newsroom that in spite of heavy rain, strong winds and flash flooding the borough was spared severe damage.

And Lyndon Lara Councillor for Maracas\Santa Cruz\ La Fillette in an update told News Power Now that emergency situations were minimal.
