Religious leaders call for resolution to the impasse between government and HRM

by | Oct 5, 2014

NEWS GRAPHIC 11Heads of the local Anglican and Roman Catholic churches are hoping that Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar and environmental activist Dr Wayne Kublalsingh meet with each other.

Anglican Bishop, Claude Berkeley and Roman Catholic Archbishop Joseph Harris said in a joint statement issued yesterday said they hope both parties dare to reach beyond their expressed positions and take one or two steps towards each other.

Berkeley and Harris invited all to pray over the next 48 hours that God may move hearts and minds to act according to His will in the best interest of all.

They added that the greatness of our human actions is best manifest when we are able to act in ways which truly deny ourselves and benefit others as we serve the common good.
