Republic Bank Calls For Urgent Meeting With Petrotrin Regarding Employee Pension Fund.

by | Nov 23, 2018 | 2 comments

As the legal and financial woes facing Petrotrin continue, there is news that Republic Bank Limited is threatening to wind up the company’s Employee Pension plan.

According to a letter which appears to have been sent to Petrotrin and signed by the bank’s Managing Director, Nigel Baptiste, RBL says there are concerns over the long term security over the Plan members’ benefits.

In the letter, the bank claims that if its concerns are not addressed, it will apply to the Court next week for the plan to be wound up.

It is therefore asking for a meeting with Petrotrin officials to address the concerns and determine a way forward.

This action to shut down Petrotrin clearly was not properly planned..there are hundreds of other issues arising out of this superfluous debacle.
