Police said 30 year old Dillon ‘Bandy’ Skeete, a Jamaican national and another man were the casualties of a drive by shooting at Desperlie Crescent Laventille.
Police said a rival gang from the area was responsible for the shooting which took place shortly after 9 pm.
However, a resident has told a different story.
She said the men were among a group liming in the area when officers in a black SUV pulled up and demanded that they get on their knees.
She alleged the police were the real killers.
Police were on the scene until a few hours ago.
Acting Commissioner of Police (ACP) Stephen Williams has said that a thorough investigation will be launched into the murder of three men of Laventille.
The Police Commissioner called a media briefing a short while ago to give an update on the killings.
Mr. Williams also expressed condolences to families of the murdered men.
He added that while investigations are at a preliminary stage there seems to be no proof that law enforcement was involved.
Mr. Williams noted that while there might be the possibility of reprisals the Police Service will be working to maintain the peace.
