Millions of dollars have been spent on quarantine accommodation amid COVID-19 in Trinidad and Tobago. The Health Minister gave figures yesterday during a media conference, when the topic of quarantining returning residents, was brought up. He said he would have to speak with National Security Minister Stuart Young before advising the Prime Minister on whether returning residents should be asked to pay for their quarantine stay,
Minister Terrence Deyalsingh noted that a lot of tax payers’ money has been spent on these quarantine facilities and as such, they may need to follow suit with Jamaica who has explained that this would be done in that country.
The Health Minister gave a breakdown of costs yesterday.
