One man was arrested as police seized a Glock pistol and a quantity of ammunition, during an anti-crime exercise, in the Diego Martin district, on Monday.
The exercise was conducted around 11:15am, and included officers of the Western Division’s Rapid Response Unit and the West End Police Station.
Acting on information, officers went to Upper Richplain, where they observed a man holding an object resembling that of a firearm, running up a flight of stairs at a building at Joseph Lane.
The suspect then allegedly pushed the object into a brick hole in the building.
He was held shortly thereafter and a search of the brick hole resulted in the pistol and a magazine containing 17 rounds of 9mm ammunition being found.
The suspect; a 21-year-old man of Upper Richplain, Diego Martin, was arrested.
