Road Safety group, Arrive Alive, welcomes the firmness of the police service to deal with speeding motorists.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mervin Richardson, made the position clear at a news conference on Monday at the Police Administration building.

Mr. Richardson said despite the curfew being extended, motorists have been observed speeding down the highways in an effort to reach home before the curfew takes effect at 11pm.

He noted that in many instances persons are just out liming and then have to rush home and this was unacceptable.

In a News Power Authority interview this afternoon, Arrive Alive President , Brent Batson , said as law enforcement agencies do their part to address crime citizens must also be responsible in their  actions.
