The Roman Catholic (RC) and Anglican Churches have united in a call for Prime Minster Kamla Persad-Bissessar and her Government to meet with Dr Wayne Kublalsingh.

This lasted call came as Dr. Kublalsingh completed his 21 days on a hunger strike.

In a joint statement RC Archbishop Joseph Harris and Anglican Bishop Claude Berkley asked for both parties come together and find a resolution on the construction of the Debe to Mon Desir segment of the Solomon Hochoy Highway extension to Point Fortin.

Both churches revealed that they have identified two eminent citizens who can facilitate mediation if the Government and the Highway Re-Route Movement (HRM) decides to meet.

In response to the call for mediation, Dr. Kublalsingh stated he is willing to meet with the Prime Minister; however he does not believe she will meet with him.
