San Fernando East MP remains tight lipped on General Election candidacy

NEWS GRAPHIC 14The 2015 General Elections could possibly see the return of San Fernando East MP and former Prime Minister Patrick Manning as the PNM’s candidate for that constituency, even though he had previously stated that he was bowing out of electoral politics in 2015.

While Mr. Manning’s website contains no direct quote from him on the matter, it does contain a quote from former PNM MP and Cabinet member Mustapha Abdul Hamid.

This was confirmed by the PNM’s San Fernando Constituency Public Relations Officer Anthony Clarke.

The announcement on Monday night that Patrick Manning was going to return as a candidate for San Fernando east caused quite a stir around the People’s National Movement.

However, now that the announcement has been made Mr. Manning is remaining tight lipped according to the PRO of his constituency office Anthony Clarke.

Whatever Mr. Manning ultimately decides, he will get no special treatment.

The PRO stated that Mr. Manning has never been known to make rash decisions without consultation.

Clarke revealed that there i9s a good change that Mr. manning would be seen on the hustings even if he is not a candidate.
