Fourteen vendors plying their trade along the pavement on High Street and Mucurapo Street in San Fernando, were disrupted by police officers who seized their items and caused them to scamper, on Thursday.
The officers of the San Fernando City Corporation confiscated various items, including clothing, fruits and vegetables.
Upon seeing the police officers, the vendors reportedly left their goods and fled.
The items were removed from the pavement and later, seven of the vendors reportedly went to the police station to claim their goods.
The vendors will be served summons and News Power Now understands that all of the fruits and vegetables seized by the officers were dumped, as officers of the City Health Department declared they were contaminated.
Additionally, seven grocery carts were handed over to a supermarket in the city. They had in fact reported their carts stolen.
