Minister of National Security Stuart Young says cabinet has taken a decision to ban the importation and sale of scratch bombs in this country.
He made the revelation at the weekly post cabinet media briefing held at the Diplomatic Centre, St Ann’s on Thursday.
There have been several incidents in the past where persons including children and the elderly have suffered injuries from scratch bombs.
During this year’s Divali celebration in Central Trinidad a scratch bomb incident resulted in fire at a house, which left several persons homeless.
Minister Young also told reporters how the process will unfold.
