A public apology is coming from Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley towards persons affected by problems with sea transportation between Port of Spain and Scarborough.
Truckers and traders have been complaining about reduced accommodation capacity and longer sailing time of the current cargo vessel.
They claimed that the development has resulted in increased costs.
Passengers using the ferry service have also expressed dissatisfaction with the cancellations or adjustments to sailing times due to mechanical problems as cited by the Port Authority.
Speaking at a media briefing at the parliament building this afternoon, Dr Rowley said in spite of the development action is being taken by the state to address challenges identified.
