Senior Councils question JLSC appointments


Meanwhile Senior Councils Martin Daly and Reginald Dumas issued a joint statement following the announcement by the President of Trinidad and Tobago to appoint the fifth member of the Judicial and Legal Services Commission (JLSC).

They have stated that they too have questions, however their questions relate to the last set of appointments.

Avason Quinlan-Williams was appointed as a member of the senior courts of Trinidad and Tobago.

A number of issues have arisen since that appointment was made, concerning her suitability for office,

especially investigations that took place prior to her announcement.

Senior Council martin Daly sought ito explain the circumstances surrounding the contentious issue.


Speaking on CNC3’s Morning Brew Program today Daly said that there needs to be more transparency with the issue.
