While there are roaming agreements with Bmobile and several Caribbean countries that keep the costs at a minimum, the arrangement with the Bahamas is quite different. This, according to Senior Manager Brand Public Relations & External Affairs at TSTT, Graeme Suite.
He explained that there are roaming costs for voice and SMS services and another for data service which is usually more expensive.
He went on to say that a roaming agreement allows a country to set a cost for visitors to their network.
Mr. Graeme was speaking on the Power Breakfast Show on Power 102.1 fm this morning where he revealed that the arrangements with the Bahamas is different to the Caribbean islands.
He said for those countries like the Bahamas where there are no roaming agreements, the cost of roaming both for voice and SMS and especially for Data is significantly higher.
