Several regional leaders, high ranking officials and dignitaries are expected to attend the State funeral of former Prime Minister, Patrick Manning at the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Port of Spain at 10am.
69 year old Mr. Manning died at the San Fernando General Hospital on Saturday.
Government has agreed to cover the expenses for the funeral.
However, Minister in the Ministry of the Office of the Attorney General and Legal Affairs, Stuart Young, said he was not in position to give details on the expenditure at this time.
He also said the government was not able to indicate at this time how Mr Manning’s contribution and service to the country will be honored.
Mr Young gave details on the matter while speaking at the weekly post cabinet media briefing at the Office of the Prime Minister, St Clair, Thursday afternoon.
Minister Young also explained that measures have been taken to facilitate members of the public who are unable to get inside of the Cathedral.
