The severe dry season is taking its toll on farmers and their production. This update coming from the Trinidad and Tobago Farmers Union.
President of the Union, Shiraz Khan, says because of the situation farmers have been forced to take critical measures to maintain their operations.
Speaking with News Power Now this afternoon, Mr. Khan suggested urgent collaboration between the relevant authorities to develop intervention that can be agreed upon and implemented.

The Fire Officers Association is reporting a significant amount of bush fires so far this year. FOA President, Leo Ramkissoon, reveals that the situation is compounded by the dry spell affecting the region.
Speaking with News Power Now this afternoon, Mr. Ramkissoon urged citizens to take action that minimizes incidents of bush fires.
The fire official admitted that the development has placed increased demand on the fire service.
