Police are investigating the murder of a shop owner who was shot and killed in Wallerfield on Monday night. He has been identified as 33-year-old Roodell Flaunders, also known as ‘Junior’, of Red Granite Street, Jacob Hill, Wallerfield.

Reports say that around 11.30 pm officers responded to a report of a shooting at Mulberry Drive, in the community. On arrival, they were met by residents who directed them to Red Granite Road, where they observed the body of a man being carried by neighbours. He appeared to suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He had been shot in the chest and upper back. He was placed in the police vehicle and taken to the Arima Health Facility, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Further enquiries revealed that around 11.15 pm, Flaunders was sitting at his shop when he was approached by a man. Several explosions were heard, and the man was then seen running away. Anyone with information on this crime is asked to call CRIME STOPPERS at 800-TIPS.
