Concerns are raised about significant decline in visitor arrivals to Tobago.

The point was highlighted by Chairman of the Tobago Division of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Demi John Cruickshank.

He was speaking on this week’s Facing the Issues Programme hosted by Tony Fraser on Power 102.1fm.

Mr Cruickshank said a review must be done into what factors might have contributed to the steady drop in visitors coming to the sister isle.

Unlike Orville London this man knows the reason why less people come to Tobago. In the THA the opinion prevails people are bound to visit Tobago. However, in reality Tobago is not competetive with many other places especially the Dominican Republic. There are not enough all inclusive resorts in Tobago and many resorts are overpriced. Furthermore crime still remains a problem. The police is unable and unwilling to solve any crime committed against a white foreigner. The police is only willing to lable white foreigners as potential drug users and white women as potential prostitutes. When foreign visitors want to leave Tobago they get harassed by the police with stupid questions about their potential drug consumption. Who will under these circumstances ever come back to Tobago? Furthermore, cutlassman, the man who murders at least one white senior citizen couple every year, is still at large and considered a hero in Tobago. Orville London knows this but he is silent about it.
