The question and answer segment of yesterday’s sitting of the Upper House heated up with both Government and Opposition members hurling ‘picong’ at either other.
Tourism Minister, Gerald Hadeed, hit back at Opposition People’s National Movement (PNM) members who shouted “rats” when he rose to answer a question posed by Senator Camille Robinson-Regis.
The Opposition was speaking of a recording where someone sounding like a Government Minister, referred to other current and former members of the cabinet as the rodents.
Minister Hadeed warned to PNM Senators about their comments.
Minister Hadeed told the parliament that Tourism Ministry Permanent Secretary Juliana Johan-Boodram and seven other officials of the ministry and the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) had attended the 2013 edition of Caribbean Week in New York.
