Sport Minister Anil Roberts has continued his campaign to distance himself from corrupt practices that were revealed in an audit of the LifeSport program.
The audit which was tabled by the Prime Minister in the House of Representative revealed a number of scandalous practices including payments without invoices, theft of equipment and misrepresentation of services.
Minister Roberts has insisted that his program was not corrupt.
He said the alleged theft of equipment was sad because it deprived the less fortunate participants.

Minister Roberts has also stated that recent reports that came out of the audit on the Life Sport program has not linked him to any corrupt activities and therefore he has no reason to resign.
He has taken some responsibility for the fallout after the report was made public, and the effect it would have on the participants of the program.
The Sport Minister lamented that the focus was on the negative aspects of the program.
He said that statistics showed that there were many participants who benefited from their involvement in Life Sport.
Minister Roberts also stated that people needed to keep things in perspective and blamed those who he said were really responsible for the failure of the Life Sport Program.
