Sport Minister Tobago trip not discussed in cabinet today

Reporters were told by Stuart Young, Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister that issues in the public domain surrounding Darryl Smith Sport Minister was not discussed at today’s cabinet meeting.

On Wednesday Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley in a media release requested a full report from Minister Smith on the recently concluded trip to Tobago.

Officials from the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs and the Sports Company of Trinidad and Tobago also accompanied the Minister on the trip and were all housed at the Magdalena Grand Beach & Golf Resort.

The Minister and Ministry officials travelled to Tobago to attend the Tobago House of Assembly Sports Awards, which was held on Saturday May 20th.

However, when questioned by journalists on matters pertaining to Minister Smith and Tourism Minister Shamfa Cudjoe, it was pointed out by Minister Young that the cabinet did not address the issues.
