A fisherman from Charlottetville has complained that he received no help from the Coast Guard after he was stranded at sea for two days.
Dwayne Eastman stated that he was dissatisfied with the explanation from the Coast Guard that they did not have any boats available to launch a search and rescue mission.
The fisherman said he is thankful to be with his family after being rescued by fellow fishermen.
The 37 year old father of three said while at sea, he began experiencing engine problems and started drifting off course.
He revealed that he was unable to radio for help.
He said he used his raincoat as a flag to alert passing vessels that he was in distress.
He went on to say that his hope that the Coast Guard would rescue him died a swift death .
Eastman claimed that he could not accept the coast guard’s excuse for not coming to his aid.
After being adrift for two days, he was eventually found by Charlotteville fishermen on Saturday evening.
