Student dies two days after being shot

NEWS GRAPHIC 10A 24 YEAR-old University of Trinidad and Tobago student succumbed to gunshot wounds two days after he was injured during a carjacking.

According to police, Joshua Hospedales was driving his vehicle near his Arena Road, Freeport home when at 12.30 a.m. on Sunday he was held up by two men.

Hospedales stopped vehicle, and the suspects dragged him out of the driver’s seat and shot him several times.

The men attempted to escape with the vehicle but were unsuccessful.
They however escaped in a waiting vehicle.

Hospedales was taken to the Couva Health Facility and then to the San Fernando General Hospital where he was warded in the Intensive Care Unit.

He lost his fight at 2.30 p.m. yesterday.

Freeport police is continuing investigating.
