Confirmation of this comes from the University of the West Indies Student Guild President, Makesi Peters.
Reports say cabinet is expected to meet on Wednesday to discuss GATE and deliberate further on the recommendations made for the venture.
Government has assured that GATE will not be stopped.
However, it has admitted that the initiative must be reviewed and adjustments made to avoid wastage.
Mr. Peters in a News Power Now interview this afternoon said recently students from different universities were able to have an audience with Education Minister, Anthony Garcia and his team.
