Even as Trinidad and Tobago and the world at large continues to grapple with the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, there is news of the upcoming observation of a National Day of Prayer in T&T.

Church services of most major religions have been suspended in light of the pandemic’s ongoing spread. Many have been using social media to spread messages of faith and spiritual guidance to others amid the ongoing situation. Now, in Trinidad and Tobago, with one person having died on the island from COVID-19, the Ministry of Health’s social media pages have been circulating details of a National Day of Prayer carded to take place on Sunday.

Online, believers from all faiths have been expressing the need for more prayer to combat the raging COVID-19 virus that has led to the deaths of more than 23,000 persons worldwide. Whether prayer is the answer or not, one thing’s for certain and that’s the fact that coming together in solidarity and prayer, can’t make things any worst than they presently are. Don’t you agree?
