TATEC employees suspended for strike action

NEWS GRAPHIC 4News Power Now has been reliable informed that twenty four 24 employees from the Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission in Fernando were suspended on Tuesday.

Our Newsroom understands the employees were suspended for one month without pay.

The action was taken after the workers allegedly took part in for illegal activities.

The men were allegedly beating drums, using placards, on the compound and took part on March 23RD in Port Of Spain.

The employees were all warned with correspondences from management stating it is a serious violation to take part in any illegal protest action as they are part of an essential service.

However, approximately 30 other employees, from Southern Division who allegedly took part in the said march are under investigation at this time.
