The Education Minister reveals $575 million dollars is the cost to taxpayers thus far from repair and maintenance work carried out at the nation’s schools over the last four years by the state.
Dr. Tim Gopeesingh explained that during the July \August vacation over 200 upgrade jobs will be carried out at various schools across the country.
In the past, the Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers Association complained about the incompletion of refurbishment work at the start of the new school term in September.
The teachers’ union claimed the situation has resulted in several classes being interrupted.
