Tax Payers to Pay $45 Million for Traffic Management System Expansion

It will cost tax payers $45 million dollars as cabinet gives support to an expansion of the National Traffic Management System over three years.

Works and Infrastructure Minister, Dr Suruj Rambachan, gave the update while speaking at the weekly post cabinet news briefing held at the Office of the Prime Minister, St Clair\on Thursday afternoon.

In defending the move Minister Rambachan said the National Traffic Management System has provided the Ministry with the tools to observe traffic flows especially during peak periods and help improve safety.

However, he admitted there are challenges which impact on the Ministry’s ability to properly more of the nation’s highways.
